FIRST Team 1241, theory6, is a student run robotics initiative at Rick Hansen Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Our team is made up of 60 students, 10 school staff and 14 alumni & mentors, all of whom work and meet in the Marc Cianfrini Technology Wing of Rick Hansen throughout the year.
Members work with electrical and programming aspects of the robot
Design and create electrical systems necessary for the functioning of the robot
Ensure the electrical systems are failure proof through rigorous testing and failure mode analysis
Develop code that controls all systems of the robot (Autonomous and Driver Controlled)
Work with visual recognition systems, target tracking, traction control systems, etc
Developed code using C++ and troubleshoot using an implemented LabVIEW feedback loop
Controls system based on the National Instruments cRio system
Create freehand illustrations, technical drawings and computer aided models that meet industry standards using 3D design software Autodesk Inventor
Create visual representations of ideas to clearly explain concepts , along with mechanical and electrical systems to all members of the team
Generate a history of the robot's development throughout the build season
Create, maintain and update technical drawing of robot parts in order for replacements and spares to be made
Generate a final Bill of Materials and costing of the robot required for competition

Building custom web apps to reduce team's dependency on 3rd party apps
Designing user-friendly interfaces that function seamlessly accross across browsers
Maintaining the Team's website and the server

Encouraging students to face new challenges and formulate strategies
Guiding us through the competition with leadership and initiative

Make ID Badges, Business Cards, Thank You Cards, Stationery, etc for the team
Organize a team social event like a BBQ, Bowling etc after the build season ends
Solicit donations from small and large companies
Organize Community Service Projects, and Open House for local politicians, Potential engineers, and would-be mentors
Compile a "wish-list" of items required by the team
