What is Girls in STEM Olympics?

GiSO is an annual event for high school girls+ to explore their interests and discover opportunities in STEM

Meet like-minded girls+ from around Canada with a shared interest in STEM

Participate in workshops and competitive challenges

Engage with industry and post-secondary professionals

Learn from keynote speakers about different ways you can get involved in the STEM field

Open to high school students who identify as women+ Canada-wide

Workshops & Challenges

Participate in workshops and compete in team-based challenges revolving around STEM fields such as:

  • Mechanical Design

  • Programming

  • Electrical

*No prior experience in any of these fields are necessary to participate. Workshops will be held on Day 1, which will help prepare you for competition on Day 2!

Innovation Fair

Explore new opportunities to get involved in STEM as well as meet industry and post-secondary professionals in our Innovation Fair.

Previous exhibitors have included SHAD Canada, McMaster University, University of Toronto, Quanser, and Microsoft.

Women in STEM Panel

Get inspired by today's leaders in the industry in our Women in STEM Panel. The WiS Panel features a group of women from various fields in STEM, sharing their experiences and insight of the industry and gender representation.

From post-secondary students to CEOs of their own businesses, learn from a variety of perspectives and get advice to help expand your interests and your career in STEM.
